Historical Uses:
Maca has been traditionnaly used by South America native indians living at high altitudes of the Peruvian Andes mountains. Maca is the only plant that grows at 9000 to 14500 feet above sea level. Recent analysis have demonstrated its excellent nutritive value, rich in essential amino acids and essential fatty acids.

Maca feeds the brain's glandular complex (epiphysis (pineal) - hypophysis (pituitary) - hypothalamus) which in turn, stimulates all other body glands for proper function. This action influences the ovaries, testicles, suprarenal glands, pancreas, thyroid gland etc.

Hence, Maca plays a very important role in the treatment of menopause (reduces hot flashes, corrects mentrual problems, improves skin appearance, increases sexual desire, regulates vaginal lubrication, stabilizes emotional status, reduces stress) and in the treatment of male fertility problems.
