Historical Uses:
Historically, Willow is a very important medicinal plant. Willow bark was once the main anti-inflammatory herbal medicine and was largely used to treat rheumatoid arthritics and muscular and gouty pains.1 It has also been used to treat stomach disorders, urinary tract ailments, respiratory catarrh, common cold and typhoid fever.1,2 In children, it has been used to treat summer intestinal disorders. It is also said to clarify blood, which could have a positive effect in the prevention of blood clots. Externally, it is occasionally employed in the treatment of skin eruption and wounds.

Contraindications:
None.

Adverse reactions:
Avoid excessive consumption. Regular use may cause constipation.

Dosage:
40 drops one to three times per day.
