Historical Uses:
Wild Lettuce has been used in folk medicine as a sedative on the central nervous system, to treat insomnia.

It has also been employed during the U.S. Civil War to help relieve pain.

Wild Lettuce has been recommended in cases of bronchitis, cough, asthma, laryngitis and infections of the urinary tract.

Contraindications:
None.
Adverse reactions:
Avoid excessive doses.
Dosage:
For insomnia, 30 to 40 drops a half hour before bedtime. If necessary, repeat every 5 minutes, for the next half hour until sleep is possible. If pain or bronchial irritation, the same as above, but also rub on chest area.
