Historical Uses:
Potentilla has long been used as an astringent and anti-inflammatory in the treatment of acute diarrhea and intestinal tract inflammations.1 It has also been employed as an hemostatic to treat internal hemorrhage, especially bleeding ulcers of the large intestine and stomach.1 Externally, Potentilla has been applied to wounds, hard kernels, hard swellings, foul, running sores, scabs, itches and bruises.1,2 It has also served as a gargle in sore throats and gingivitis, and has been rubbed on spongy or bleeding gums and mouth ulceration.1,2 Potentilla is claimed to promote healing processes.1

Contraindications:
Avoid in cases of tendency toward constipation.

Adverse reactions:
Avoid excessive use and consumption over prolonged periods.

Dosage:
40 to 80 drops after meals on or under the tongue. Apply externally as needed.
