Historical Uses:
Milk Thistle has been used in folk medicine to treat liver and biliary tract disorders, especially jaundice and gallstones.1 It has also been employed in the treatment of hepatitis and cirrhosis of various origins.2

Contraindications:
None.

Adverse reactions:
Avoid long-term use.

Dosage:
10 to 30 drops three times per day. Externally, apply on the liver area each time it is taken internally. It can also be used externally as a poultice. Use with a good bowel management program.
