Historical Uses:
Eyebright has been used for centuries in traditional medicine to treat eye infections, conjunctivitis and other ocular inflammations.1 It is said to help correct vision and strengthen eyes.2 It is commonly used in European folk medicine for cough, hoarseness, earaches and irritating discharge of mucus from eyes, sinuses, nose, throat and bowel.1,2 It is reported to have been used by pregnant women exposed to measles to help prevent deafness in the expected child.2

Contraindications:
None.

Adverse reactions:
None.

Dosage:
10 to 20 drops three times per day. Externally, apply on or around affected areas several times a day.
