Cornsilk is known since the 18th century for its diuretic properties.

Cornsilk extracts have been used to treat bladder, kidney and urinary tract inflammation, gout (accumulation of uric acid), bed wetting, cystitis, renal calculi, dropsy, liver and gall bladder ailments.

Cornsilk has also been employed in the treatment of arthritis.

Cornsilk is said to be a good source of vitamin K, which is known to help stop hemorrhage.

Contraindications:
None.
Adverse reactions:
None.
Dosage:
10 to 40 drops after each meal. For infant bleeding, apply 2 drops to the sole of each foot, repeatedly, until bleeding stops.
