Historical Uses:
The plant is generally recognized for its ability to elicit "euphoria" in some cats.1 Humans have used Catnip to treat colds, nervous conditions, stomach ailments, headaches, hives and high blood pressure.1 It has been used as a carminative in cases of flatulent colic,2 particularly in babies (spastic gas pain). Catnip is known to be sedative to man, thus, it has been used as a sleep aid.1 To help quit smoking, put some drops at the back of the tongue each time there is a smoke craving.

Contraindications:
None.

Adverse reactions:
None.

Dosage:
5 to 20 drops three times per day or as needed. Externally, apply on back and abdominal area. In cases of hypertension, 40 drops three times per day.
