Historical Uses:
Butcher's Broom has been used some 2000 years ago as a laxative and diuretic.1 Butcher's Broom is said to exert anti-inflammatory effects and to increase the tonus of the veins.2 Investigations during the 1950's indicated that the extracts of the rhizomes could induce vasoconstriction.1 It has acquired a good reputation as a useful treatment for varicose veins.2 It has also recently been used in the prevention of atherosclerosis, one of the many degenerating stages of arteriosclerosis.1

None.

None.

Dosage:
20 to 40 drops three times per day.
