MOT DE LA PRÉSIDENTE

For many of us, september means that vacation is over. We have refilled in energy and are ready to return to work. We fell an urgent need to accomplish several tasks at once.

With the last nice days, we want to tackle the small outdoors jobs that we have neglected all summer, pick the garden vegetables and maybe even can them, subscribe to a gym, take a painting course or maybe a computer course; Wow!

Well, what? The kids are back to school, we can now breathe a little. For most parents and children, the start of school goes well. But for a few of them, it is a tense and frustrating period. In Quebec, 3 to 10% of school aged children fulfill the hyperactivity diagnostic criteria.

It is especially difficult to be a parent of a child that is constantly moving, that has schooling problems, that leaves all rooms in a mess and that lose everything. The parents often feel lost and helpless.

Then, they open the door to ritalin, even though many other approaches exist in the treatment of this disorder.

In this september edition, in conjuction with the start of school, we thought that is was appropriate to discuss these two subjects, ritalin in our chronicle " What's new " and hyperactivity, in our chronicle " Health file ".

With time, we all have the occasion to appreciate the benefits that provide the Herbal extracts. Arnica and slippery root are a true winning duo. Sister Estelle Lemaire shares with you her experience. You must absolutely read it!
