In the Eighties, alternative medicine was at its beginnings and at this time, my mother was very sick. She suffered from backaches, chronic tiredness and her muscles were so painful that she was unable to function. At this point in time she met Mrs Georgette Blair, a lady practicing reflexology and iridology. Thanks to the judicious advices of this lady, my mother quickly recovered health.

It is following her recovery that she was first initiated with natural products by Mrs Blair and then decided to help people in return. She said to herself: "If that helped me, it will help others". She then started to sell natural products and Mrs Blair came regularly at home to meet customers.

A few years later, during a convention, my mother met Mrs. Jacqueline Blouin and after noticing that they were having the same surname, "what a happy coincidence", they became good friends and it's at this time that my mother decided to sell Mrs Blouin's products. She attended several Pure Herbs' conventions to improve her knowledge and become a distributor.

November 22nd, 1986, my mother opened her own business "Clinique Mariette Côté" in the downtown area of Hearst, Ontario. She practiced iridology, treated allergies and fears and excelled in energetic balancing.

Considering the growing success of the Clinic, I, her daughter, Lorraine Charlebois, joined with this fantastic team that my mother had formed, so I could learn how to use plants in order to fully take advantage of their beneficial effects. My mother attended seminars and classes and hastened to transmit us her new knowledge. Over a few years, "Clinique Mariette Côté" grew so much in popularity, that my mother had to travel in various areas of Quebec and even in the United States to give lectures.

My mother died in a tragic car accident in 1993. It was consternation. In spite of my immense sorrow, I had an important decision to take, do I continue or sell the business? After careful thoughts, I decided to take over, because mom had left me with good work tools and especially a great team. So we rolled up our sleeves, and gave ourselves one-year trial. It is thus with pride that, July 2nd, 2003, we will celebrate the Clinic's 10th anniversary. I believe that I have achieved my goal and I am certain that mom takes good care of the Clinic's team. Moreover we talk about her as if she died yesterday. How could we forget her? She released an outstanding energy... We can only wish having the same energy she had.

Then with the force, confidence and energy Mariette had, it's worth to keep on going. We wish to work with Mrs. Jacqueline Blouin and her team, for a long time, they are qualified people who are always available and ready to help us.
